Fabio Cavallucci

Fabio Cavallucci (1961) is an Italian curator and art critic. He directed institutions such as the Galleria Civica in Trento, the Ujazdowski Castle Centre in Warsaw, and the Luigi Pecci Center in Prato, shaping them into key spaces for contemporary artistic experimentation.

Beyond directing major institutions, Cavallucci has curated internationally renowned events including Manifesta 7 and the Bi-City Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism in Shenzhen/Hong Kong. His career is marked by an interdisciplinary approach that brings together visual arts, performance, architecture, and research, often situating art within broader cultural, political, and social contexts. He has consistently fostered dialogue between artists and audiences, expanding the boundaries of institutional roles and creating platforms where art becomes a space for participation and civic engagement. Cavallucci has also promoted Italian artists abroad, strengthened cultural policy through initiatives like the Italian Council, and published widely as a critic and thinker. His work continues to explore how contemporary art can act as a catalyst for exchange, reflection, and transformation across borders.
